Admission process
Step 1: Apply and Connect
Step 2: Assessment
Step 3: Trial period and decision
Submit an application and tell us about your child: their learning profile, experiences, and what brings you to SOLA. We'll schedule an introductory conversation with our team to get to know your family and answer your questions
To ensure SOLA is the right fit, we arrange a professional pedagogical and psychological assessment. This may include an IQ assessment (we typically work with children testing around 130 and above) and/or an evaluation of gifted learning characteristics.
If your child has already been assessed or diagnosed by a certified specialist or recognised practice, we are happy to accept those existing reports: no need to repeat what has already been done. If your child has not yet been assessed, our in-house psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team can carry out the full diagnostic process.
Before a final placement, your child joins SOLA for a three-month trial period. This is a mutual exploration: for your child, for your family, and for us, to ensure the fit is right on all sides. At the end of the trial, our multidisciplinary team makes the final admission decision together with you and your child.
